Another Sea of Thieves beta coming this weekend.

Rare have announced a Sea of Thieves “Scale Test” for this weekend. The purpose of the latest beta is to intentionally cause problems in the game. These will range from stress testing servers, testing various global data centers and simulating server outages.

Examples of issues players can expect to see are..

  • Sessions being interupted
  • An inability to join games at certain times
  • Issues when using shops in-game

The Scale Test kicks off this Friday, February 16th at 10am GMT (2am PST) and ending on Sunday, February 18th at 10am (2am PST).

The Scale Test is open to all Xbox Insiders and players who had access to the closed beta. Players should head over to the Insider Hub to download the Sea of Thieves Scale Test build.

The beta will include the same experience that was available during the closed beta.

There will be at least one more scale test with dates to be announced at a later date. There will also be another beta closer to launch that will give players a taste of the wider Sea of Thieves experience. This is probably going to be an open beta. Details will be given closer to the March 20th launch date of the full game.
